Spiritual Disciplines

• Sanctification is the process of being made holy and set apart for God. Of becoming more Christlike by the power of the Holy Spirit, in both our nature and a commitment to live righteously (John 17:17, Thess. 5:23, Heb. 12:14).

• Spiritual Disciplines are the practices and rhythms we practically participate in as Christians to position ourselves for growth by the power of the Holy Spirit.

• Walking the middle ground by avoiding the two mistakes of either;

  • slipping into striving in our own human strength and self-sufficiency, and

  • slipping into apathetic living by doing nothing at all about our sinful nature.
